A former parishioner reached out to request lambathes (wedding candles) for his niece who will be married in a month or so. He and his wife will be the sponsors. I contacted her to see what she was looking for and she sent me a few photo examples, ultimately settling on one design. I copied it, but unable to find precisely the embellished ribbon I was looking for wound up hand-setting pearl and rhinestone embellishments all along the silver ribbon. It was time-consuming, but replicated the look she wanted. I also had to hand-twist the silver and rattail because the only option with silver used white rattail and we needed cream. (All of the white was shifted to cream so as not to fight with the beeswax, the photo example having used white paraffin candles). Another alteration I made was to wrap the base of each candle securely in ribbon for a comfortable grip during the wedding.
Anyway, she seemed happy with the photos of the finished candles I sent her so I hope she likes them in person!
