Father noticed a giant moth on a downstairs window yesterday. We looked it up and it turned out to be a male Antheraea polyphemus. They only live a few days after emerging because they lack the ability to eat. After taking a few photos I went outside and nudged it slightly so I could see the prominent eyespots. Just beautiful.
