I always have a blanket project ongoing. I firmly believe every baby needs something that was handmade for them, and not just a handmade hand-me-down. We have a steady trickle of new babies at church plus periodically a friend will have a new baby. Even if I don’t have someone in mind at the time I keep making things and add them to the stash. Then I have appropriate gifts for either boys or girls.
I finished this granny square blanket a couple weeks ago. Beginning several months ago I made umpteen granny squares from (primarily) superwash wool in a light weight I had in my stash. the squares sat around for a couple months until I decided to join them up and add a border. I blocked it (and the second blanket) a couple days ago.

The second blanket I started a couple weeks ago, right after I finished the first one. It’s knit with a couple different bamboo blend yarns I had in my stash. [I’m always trying to use up my stash materials!] It’s slightly wonky due to an unfortunate design choice I made in my choice of lace stitches, but it blocked out ok.

They are both very soft and both folded up in the drawer with other items such as knitted baby socks.
I started working on a knit baby blanket today which has languished, unfinished, in said drawer for at least a couple years. As well as using up my stash, I’m also trying to finish all of the UFOs!
