I got on a roll and just kept knitting socks. I like to have several ready to go for gifts in case it hits during a busy season and I have given away several pairs lately. Here are two coordinating pairs I just finished. It’s nice to try to get the stripes to line up if possible.

In much less pleasant news I decided to repot a begonia from last year (it was looking a bit sad) and discovered that the entire pot was an ant farm, full of eggs. I have made an attempt at salvaging it, first pulling apart the plant at the roots and scraping away as much soil (and ants) as possible, then spraying the roots with the hose. I put a layer of ant poison in the pot before adding the begonia, to try to kill any remaining ants. We’ll see if it works. What a mess!
