I promised a mouse to a friend and I’m finally delivering on that promise!

We also had a surprise guest in the back yard. He was about 2 feet long and quite lively. It’s a black racer snake.

We were going to let him go down by the drainage ditch at the edge of our neighborhood (many snakes have a happy home there) but my son encountered police setting up a perimeter when he got there, so he brought him back home. I let him go in the bushes. I’m sure he can find a few toads and other creepy crawlies for dinner.
