In Which I start Yet Another Blog

Life has a funny way of coming full circle. I started a blog in 2008, worked on it for years, gradually realized the blogosphere was shrinking, was invited to Instagram, started there, let the blog begin to languish, grew uneasy with the sharing of family photos online, made the blog private, then just ended it. Now here I am again, having deleted Instagram. The connections will be fewer, but that is a feature, not a bug. Instagram had become a stumbling block for me: a source of anxiety and temptations to envy and discontent. I stayed for years because I had no other advertising outlet for my online shop. Well, I closed the shop in January. During Lent I realized I no longer needed Instagram as a means to advertise, so there was nothing really holding me there.

I gave the decision to start this blog a lot of thought. I still wanted a place to share photos of things I like to make and just neat photos I take. I knew I would miss some means of connection to the outside world. This blog will fill in those gaps. What it will not be is a window into my family or personal life (beyond some random musings).
