Joyous feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos!

I brought a little mint and little basil plant to be blessed.

On the way home from Liturgy we got caught in dreadful traffic because I forgot to check Waze before leaving. (Yesterday I remembered and was able to chart an alternate route.) While we were stuck in the eventual exit lane we counted around 40 trucks taking a “Texit”, or simply cutting through the grass verge to the feeder road. Risky, because you’ll definitely get pulled over for it, and only trucks and some SUVs will usually attempt it. Definitely don’t do this if it’s rained recently or you’ll get to sit, stuck in the mud, while everyone laughs at you and the state trooper takes his sweet time sauntering up with a big grin. My son helped me out by taking a video looking backwards at a few Texiters:

I’ve made progress on the hexie quilt. I decided to go with flowers and have made 54 so far. I think I’ve finally decided to go with white borders for them all but I’ll do that later.

I might make a short video later of how I do the EPP (English paper piecing) without using glue. It’s worked really well for me so far.

Time to get cracking with homeschooling for the day, since I went to the grocery store earlier.
