It was warm today. I think it reached 87 this afternoon. I’m not at all ready for summer. The air conditioning seemed a bit uncertain at church this morning although it was nice in the hall (where we have “overflow church”).

The plants don’t seem to start suffering until it starts getting to the point of 95+ during the day and the corresponding (and depressing) 79+ before dawn. At that point I’m watering every day that it doesn’t rain just to keep everything from cooking.

I’ve finished crocheting black wool around all of the squares and weaving in the ends. Now I’m sewing all of the squares together. There’s no way I’ll finish before bed so I’m going to have to use a crochet hook and obnoxiously visible yarn to baste the squares together or I’ll lose the random pattern I created.

I ought to be decorating baptismal candles for the church bookstore (we’re out) this evening but I can work on that tomorrow instead. I’ll share photos when I do.
